SixOnSaturday
Back from holidays , back to go for a week , normal service is resumed . Still a bauble round these part , earlier this week we had some proper pelting . It has rain down on rare occasion since May , but not for farseeing and not intemperately . This rain was sullen and lasted for 60 minutes . Good , utilitarian garden rain . Useful to the point of not take to drop hours watering myself . That sort of utilitarian . The forecast for the weekend is drab . Grey and sunless , but wry . Excellent horticulture atmospheric condition ! Before all that , meter for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything ! A prime , a pestilence , a nonstarter , a disaster , wildlife , a plan , anything at all . get together in !
Here are my Six for this hebdomad .

1 – Clematis ‘ Rebekah ’ come head , Having bloom profusely , this clematis has produced the usual seed heads . Up closely , they are almost as gripping as the flower .
2 – Strobiles , or record hop . The flowers of the hop plant life are the part used in the brewing process for some type of beer . I have two of these plants now , one a partition of the other , both grow up fences or treillage It ’s a dwarf variety so does n’t get above 6 or 7 feet .
3 – Gazanias . A while back I was kicking myself for not plan the terrace mess . After the tulips died back , I had n’t organised anything to go in the many pots I have knocking about . I half figure out this by buy a few trays of annual , including these gazania . Inertia get the better of me again , I only managed to constitute about one-half of them up . Still , the patio is front a little livelier now .

4 – Helenium autumnale . I have a few clumps of this around and about , generated by part the original few plants that I grow from seeded player . In past year they have been about 4′ tall , and with colours ranging from promising lily-livered to a intermixture of orangey reds . This year for reasons intimately know to the plant , they are a good 6′ tall and all are brightly icteric . Perhaps they ’ll colour up over the coming hebdomad . We shall see .
5 – Weeds . For a while the hot juiceless weather was keep the green goddess at bay on the drive in the front garden . A few weeks back I set up up the irrigation scheme which water the plantation owner at the front of the house . The weeds have react with ebullience to the resulting leakage and are busy recolonising the movement . My usual remedy is to get the hoe and chop up them off . They develop back again , but it only rent 10 minutes to take in out . A Book of Job for the weekend .
6 – Calendula ‘ Snow Princess ’ . in all probability not at its best in this exposure , these were grown from semen this year . I do n’t normally bother with yearbook from ejaculate , but this year have grown a few . I ’m not convinced by these , not certain I ’d do again .

Have a super gardening weekend , do n’t forget to condition in during the day as more connectedness are added .
I ’ll be back next calendar week with another Six on Saturday .
