Mary’s SWOOP garden in New Jersey

Today ’s photos are from Mary McDermott . She says,“Here is one of my many gardens in Mays Landing , New Jersey ( South Jersey ) . This is the back yard garden , “ The Swoop . ” The photo was taken two calendar week ago .

The Swoop was begun in April , 2012 , and 95 % of the original plants I propagated from cuttings or divisions . There ’s a repeat pattern of perennials throughout the 200 - foot long garden , supplemented with annuals as the caprice strikes me . When we go to this theatre in the spring of 2011 , the back yard was a blank slate – a bare rectangle of lawn . The Swoop blooms from the earliest daffodil through mums and aster in the fall , and is the most delightful and whimsical garden I ’ve ever had .

In July , my yard was sport in a local garden club tour , and The Swoop was the centrepiece – in one picture you ’ll see a local creative person workingplein aircapturing the curves of The Swoop . ”

So , so awesome , Mary ! This garden is so much FUN ! You must show us more areas of your garden . Thanks so much for sharing this with us !
