Many of my favorite herbs reseed back into the garden from year to year . It is commodious and natural to let them cast semen and germinate according to their biologic clocks that become more finely tune up to our specific climate with every generation . It is unnecessary , as well as labor intensive to harvest the seed , store it indoors and then commend to replant in proper timing every year . If leave behind alone , these plants perpetuate themselves all on their own , without our help .
