Hi GPODers , and happy Friday !
I ’m back with another instalment of GPOD Vignettes , a compilation of submission too shortsighted for their own post but still desirable of share-out . To get up on past Vignettes , check them out here : GPOD Vignettes # 1,Vignettes # 2 , andVignettes # 3 . Just like old GPOD Vignettes seemed to effortlessly come together with a cohesive theme , this next mess of meekness all revolve around flowered arrangements and colorful container planting .
Bounty from a cutting garden
I am an avid gardener who enjoys bulge out plants from seminal fluid . I live in Sterling , MA and have a small glasshouse in which I circulate herbaceous plant , vegetable and flowers . The photo has zinnias , sunflower and hydrangea which I edit out and bring inside yesterday .
give thanks you , Cathy Fox
This annual - satisfy system delights in jaundiced , orange , and pink . I particularly love how Cathy cut her lacecap hydrangea into smaller section , allowing the flush to spread out out from all sides rather than the common clunk and clump we usually see from hydrangea in floral arrangement . The fact that she grows many of her bloom from cum makes all of this that much more impressive !

Artful arrangements
These next photos come from Susan Warde , showcasing the stunning arrangement her daughter made .
Hi Kaitlyn , inspired by your vignette post the other day , I ’m sharing two photograph that my niece sent me . These are blossom arrangements done by her daughter Kate Fenstermacher , from Bradford PA . I love these photos — they’re so painterly : Still Life in a Summer Cottage , White Pitcher ; Still Life in a Summer Cottage , Green Bowl .
Like art spring off a page , Susan was spot - on in her verbal description of “ painterly . ” Kate ’s arrangement style is very reminiscent of the 17th- and 18th - 100 Dutch masters who favored sprawling , waste , and sullen arrangements full of coloring material and hide out meanings . Artists like Jan van Huysum , Ambrosius Bosschaert , and Jacob Vosmaer come to mind with their unbelievable still lifes featuring profusions of blooms .

Kate ’s selection of watercraft is every bit as artistic and meet of those classic Dutch designs . While the standard vase chassis are always refined , out - of - the - average container like the pretty twirler above adds an superfluous touch of lineament . Bowls and basket also help create marvellous shape from your arrangements that are n’t possible in your distinctive tall vase . A beautiful green bowl with correspond flowered adornments helps Kate make a knockabout great deal of blooms .
Favorite shade mix
Hello ! I ’m Amy Scholz and I survive in the beautiful settlement of Flat Rock , NC .
I spend 20 years learning to garden in Summerville SC , zone 8b , and became surefooted in my ability to use industrial plant that grew very well there . After move to the mountains of Western North Carolina I chop-chop remove the landscape painting here was a different storey . I have enjoyed learning about the lucullan rainforest region here and all the new and interesting plants . Our landscape painting at our rest home is mostly shade so I have adapted . Below is one of my favourite combining since moving here in 2021 . It is a simple mixing of 1 Dragon Wing ® Pink begonia(Begoniaxhybrida ‘ Dragon Wing Pink’,annual),2 different flame nettle plants , and vary ivy(Hederahelix‘Glacier’,Zones 4–9).I have two of these and they really pop on the tint !
Amy employ flower and fabulous foliage to create a container that brings a bright burst of colouring material to the shade . Coleus is always a whole choice for vibrant foliage in containers , and she utilizes two show - terminate varieties . Watermelon coleus ( Solenostemonscutellarioides‘Watermelon’,annual ) copulate perfectly with the Dragon Wing ® Pink begonia , while Electric Lime ® adds some gratis yellowish green and yellow-bellied .

A thrilling and spilling porch container
My plantation owner is filled with Rockapulco ® impatiens(Impatienswalleriana‘Balcoree’,annual),Silver Falls dichondra(Dichondraargentea‘Silver Falls’,Zones 10–11 or as an annual),Prince Tut ™ papyrus(Cyperuspapyrus‘Prince Tut’,Zones 10–11 or as an annual)andPersian shield(Strobilanthesdyerianus , Zones 9–11 or as an annual).I populate in Chicago , Illinois .
give thanks you , Jane Friedman
Yet another thrilling container that brings a tropical flavour to a porch in the midwest . ‘ Silver Falls ’ dichondra is a certain - flack container choice with its waterfall of cool - modulate foliage , and Prince Tut ™ paper plant is a expectant thick Egyptian papyrus that is a perfect alternative when you ca n’t jibe the loom King Tut ® variety . I see some other container plantings peaking out from around this quite a little , Jane , we ’d love to see more of your existence !
