Kousa dogwoods(Cornuskousa , Zones 5–9 ) are always beautiful , but they get utterly show - stopping once they ’re to the full mature . With its pink bloom , this specimen is gorgeous . It looks to be the variety ‘ Satomi ’ , named for the granddaughter of celebrated Nipponese nurseryman Akira Shibamichi .

A stunning immense schefflera ( I believe it’sSchefflerataiwanianum , Zones 8–10 ) with gorgeous leafage
This niggling greenhouse is a magic and useful improver to the garden .
Arisaemaconsanguineum(Zones 5–8 ) has beautiful andunusual flowersin former summer , and the bold , tropic leafage looks peachy the whole grow time of year .

This is a beautiful combination of greenferns , with a perfect birdbath to specify them off . I think the fern in the front is a variety show ofAsplenium , but I ’m not sure . Whatever it is , the people of color andtextureare incredible .
A golden - leaved black locust ( Robiniapseudoacacia‘Frisia ’ , Zones 3–8 ) take on center stage among the trees with its leaves that just glow .
We usually think ofrhododendronsas being develop for theirflowers , but who needs flower when thefoliagelooks like this ? There ’s a beautiful contrast here between the old ontogeny and the new . ThePacific Northwestis an idealistic climate for countless rhododendron species and hybrids , including many with gorgeous leafage like this .

Masterwort ( Astrantiamajor , Zones 4–7 ) arise inpartial shadeand produces these unusual clusters of flowers back by a ring of showy bracts . As you could see , the flowers attract tidy sum ofinsect visitorslooking for pollen to snack on .
The bluff foliage of anoakleaf hydrangea(Hydrangeaquercifolia , Zones 5–9 ) is join by flower clusters just about to open .
