Sharing the joy of getting dirty!
My name is Kat , and I ’m in Northumberland County , Ontario , Canada .
These photograph are about garden with our fry . We live in an agricultural community , and there are sight of opportunities for children to learn about growing things , to experience the natural earth , and to get properly dirty .
Both fry work homesunflowerseedlings from schooltime , which we planted by the swing hardening .

The sunflowers clearly did well , turn into giants , with marigolds grow at their feet .
We grew scarlet base runner beans that turned into witching empurpled jewels .
And we made a mud pit alongside the sunflower garden , which was a highlight of the summertime in the backyard .

The kids spend a circumstances of time with me maintaining the garden throughout the grow time of year . A gallant parenting moment was when my oldest daughter distinguish my mom not to irrigate the garden with the sprinkler they were playing in . She cognise that crocked leaves would lead to powdery mildew !
Our children have many nature character models in our residential area , all incredibly giving of their time and exuberance : our adorable neighbour who is a green blogger and a talented timberland guide ; a nearby saffron farmer who brought his hatchingmonarchsto their Kyd ’ nightspot , perfectly timed for a new butterfly to look ; our Quaker who garden up a godforsaken mound and gave us tonic pawpaw seed for our grand ; the local nurseryman who open up their honor - winningpeonygarden at a heritage schoolhouse and allow our female child lie down and breathe in the fragrantthymethat carpeted their pathway as though that was a completely normal thing to do on a garden tour ; the outdoor educator who demystify tick and introduced the girls to geocaching ; the volunteers who run our twilight fairish and give the girl a chance to show off what they ’ve grown and foraged ; their instructor who put a bird tributary outside the kindergarten windowpane and draw a flock of fantastic turkeys to the playground equipment . ( I wish I had a picture of that to deal . )
One of the things I like best about horticulture is how lovesome earth feels and smell , and it is really a delight to find different ways to share those same sensory experiences with our fry , in our backyard , and in our residential area .
