A whilebackI idly wished for two of my gardening book to breed and give rise the ideal compounding of desired features . A sort of benign hortological literary eugenics . Well , what scandal ! Carol Klein’sbookand Peter Thompson’sbookclearly had an illicit matter some time back , I retrieve I have discover the result lovechild . Or , perhaps more topically , I ’ve find the F1 hybrid , contain the best feature article of the parent industrial plant , I stand for books . circulate flora is one of the RHS DK serial . The subtitle is “ The in full Illustrated Plant - by - works Manual of Practical Techniques ” . It is a large book , A4 size , and jam carry full of colour pictures and illustration , how - to instructions and advice about hundreds of specific plant . These days , if I ’m unsure how to proceed with something multiplication - colligate , this is the book I turn to by default .
The book begins with an introduction to extension , chronicle of , types of , then other related to selective information such as tools , equipment , facilities , compost and much more . This section is almost 50 Page , it ’s reasonably comprehensive . As with all DK Koran , the illustrations are excellent , and many in number , there must be thousands in the book all tell apart , all colour .
The ease of the Scripture is structure by plant case , ranging from garden trees , bush , perennials , bulb , annuals , vegetables and so on . Each chapter goes into some contingent about techniques and types of propagation applicable to that plant mathematical group .
Each chapter ends with a drawn-out A - zed subdivision listing plant and a brief synopsis of suitable techniques , refer where needed back to the relevant , more detailed incision in the first place in the book . Hundreds of plant are detail in this way , with yet more dealt with more briefly in a closing section of each chapter .
It ’s a very estimable resource , and at 350 pages , very comprehensive . My copy is a first version from 1999 . It has been revised at least once since then , in 2003 . The playscript is edited by Alan Toogood . I got my copy very cheaply second paw , via abebooks.co.uk . I recall I paid £ 2.80 including transportation , which is excellent value for a swell book in very good condition .

My one and only bugbear with this Christian Bible is that some of the textbook is quite small , I find myself proceed to sit under a good light to read , and find happy of my varifocals ( evidence , if any further were needed , of my slide into middle years ) .
Aside from that , I heartily recommend this book , both as a book of facts and as an interesting read . I have n’t yet relegated my other propagation book to secondary shelf , but neither do I refer to them often anymore . I ’ll be attend out for an inexpensive written matter of the 2003 revise edition of this Bible , but otherwise I ca n’t see any other Quran on propagation toppling this one off its perch . Truly , it ’s a fab Holy Writ .
